Welly Wall gives Wellington a place to speak, creating a constantly changing public artwork shaped by the voices of its community.

A WALL THAT NEVER STAYS THE SAME

A WALL THAT NEVER STAYS THE SAME

Welly Wall is a community street art project that transforms a legal wall into a space for creativity, conversation, and self-expression. Through weekly prompts, a dedicated website, Instagram archive, and documentary, the project encourages people to contribute to a shared artwork while challenging the line between street art and vandalism. Welly Wall is designed to become more than a temporary installation it's a brand, a movement, and a platform for community voices.

WHAT IS WELLY WALL?

Welly Wall was created by Ellie Rogers as a way to challenge the perception of street art in Wellington and provide a legal space where anyone can create with purpose. The project aims to blur the line between street art and vandalism by encouraging community participation through weekly prompts, storytelling, and public expression. More than just a wall, Welly Wall is a movement that brings people together, giving everyone the opportunity to leave their mark and become part of an evolving creative conversation.
